In this popular location you can find everything from cozy, old Bavarian guesthouses to luxury hotels with star cuisine. The flamboyant Seestraße is considered the promenade. Here you can find first-class hotels, star restaurants, noble boutiques and many wellness offers. Culture is also emphasized here. On the last Sunday in August, for example, the traditional "Rosstag" is celebrated every year. Festively decorated carriages, horses and riders parade through the town. In late autumn, the annual Almabtrieb (when the decorated cattle are brought down from the mountain pastures) takes place.
Lake Tegernsee is one of the cleanest lakes in Germany and is very popular not only for this reason. This is especially noticeable when the sun shines on the surface of the water and the whole lake begins to glisten.
From Munich it is about 55 km to Rottach-Egern and from the highway A8 you travel about 25 km. With the bus from the train station Tegernsee you can get to the desired location of Rottach-Egern by public transportation.
