In this quarter, you will mostly find larger apartment buildings, many of them built at the turn of the century and are classified as historical monuments. Because of the relatively low rents, Westend is especially popular with less well-off people, such as students and seniors. However, it is becoming increasingly popular with other demographics as well due to a gradual upgrading of the quarter.

In addition to the business park with its technology center, a lot of trade and repair businesses can be foud here, especially along the suburban train route in the north of Westend. The main sights are the building of Augustiner Bräu, Munich's oldest brewery, the former main customs office, and Bavariapark. Beautiful Bavariapark, with its expansive green spaces, provides opportunities for relaxation and is ideal for picnics when the English Garden seems too far away. Schwanthalerhöhe can be reached quickly from Westend as well as Theresienwiese, which is the venue of the annual Oktoberfest, as well as the Spring Festival, the winter Tollwood festival and many flea markets and outdoor events of various sizes. The quarter is known to have relatively little traffic while still enjoying a good and especially quick connection to the city center via the U-Bahn station U4 Schwanthalerhöhe.
The Westend is a popular area. Furnished apartments here are centrally located yet relatively quiet. Similar offers are also available in the neighboring districts of Laim, Schwanthalerhöhe and Theresienhöhe.
