The municipality of Feldkirchen-Westerham is located in the west of the district of Rosenheim, approx. 40 km from Munich. It consists of the villages of Feldkirchen, Westerham, Feldolling, Vagen and Höhenrain and now has over 11330 inhabitants.
The area around Feldkirchen-Westerham was already settled around 400 AD, as an old Roman road passed to the north of the municipality. This route later became a well-known salt route, from Bad Reichenhall to Lake Constance.
Today, Feldkirchen-Westerham is a thriving community, home to several businesses, an IHK training center and the largest volunteer-run community library in Germany. Surrounded by nature reserves and a well-developed infrastructure for young and old, the town is ideal for families.
At Westerham station, regional trains run every hour in the direction of Holzkirchen-Rosenheim. Two bus lines connect Feldkirchen-Westerham with the surrounding communities, and at weekends an additional night express offers connections to Rosenheim. The A8 is easily accessible by car.
