To the west lie vast agricultural fields. Numerous recreation and sports facilities are located nearby. The public pool Cosimabad offers a regular indoor pool as well as the only wave pool in Munich. The centrally located district sports facilities Englschalking offer facilities for a variety of sports. While the end of the U-Bahn line U4 (Arabellapark) doesn't extend all the way to Englschalking, it can be reached easily and quickly via tram (lines 16 and 18) or bus (lines 154, 183, and 184). The S-Bahn line S8 (station Englschalking) connects the quarter to Munich's center and the surrounding areas.
In Englschalking single-family houses and terraced houses dominate the picture. The Cosimapark and the "Fidelio" are also large-scale residential complexes with multi-story houses, some of which are surrounded by expansive green spaces.
