The rural character of the area surrounding the parish church of St. Johannes in the valley has been preserved and its picturesque appearance is reinforced by the river Hachinger Bach. In addition to several schools, Taufkirchen also offers the Ritter-Hilprand-Hof, a cultural center that hosts a variety of events. The S-Bahn station of line S3 provides a quick and easy connection to Munich's city center and the outskirts. Taufkirchen also has access roads to the motorways A995 and A8, allowing for quick connection to long-distance destinations.
In the former farming village, the picture today is dominated by single-family houses and terraced houses, as well as housing estates from the 70s, which offer a number of beautifully furnished apartments. Taufkirchen is situated in the middle of nature and is bordered by the Perlacher Forest in the west and the Deisenhofer Forest in the south. The location is accordingly quiet and also very suitable for families. Besides some schools, Taufkirchen also has the Ritter-Hilprand-Hof, a cultural center where a variety of different types of events are held. There are similarly nice offers for temporary accommodation in the communities of Oberhaching, Unterhaching and Ottobrunn.
