Since the 1980s, renovations and a more pleasant architectural style have improved the neighborhood’s desirability. The district is also not far from the Isar. Both the S7 (Siemenswerke stop) and the U3 U-Bahn line at the Obersendling stop connect the district to Munich city center and the surrounding region.
Many good, new housing estates with apartments have been built recently. In the immediate vicinity of the former Siemens site, a modern new residential quarter has been built on Siemensallee/Koppstrasse. Further conversions of former commercial areas into residential areas are planned. Similar offers for temporary housing are also available in the districts of Thalkirchen, Mittersendling and Solln.
