An additional advantage is the family center in Riem, which offers a wide range of counseling- and support services. Although Riem isn't located in direct proximity to the city center, its connection to U-Bahnline U2 (station Messestadt Ost) provides easy access to central Munich.
The numerous residential buildings in the south of the trade fair complex are home to more than 10,000 residents from 111 nations, and lend a more cosmopolitan flair to the otherwise rather nature-oriented and quiet Riem, while also offering other beautiful residential areaas. The former airport area is now a good example of sustainable urban planning, and has become an attractive spot, especially for families.
