Due to the immediate vicinity of several parks in Laim: Westpark, the Nymphenburg Palace Park, and Hirschgarten, the nearest recreation area is never far away. The former working class area has diverse gastronomical offerings and a wide range of leisure facilities, which are particularly popular with a younger crowd. Another gem of this area is without a doubt the "Neues Rex" on Agricolaplatz, one of the city's oldest arthouse cinemas.
