Neuried is located approx. 13 km southwest of Munich (centre) and looks back on a long history. In the 12th century the village was noted as a "new clearing" in the Baierbrunner Forst (today Forstenrieder Park).

The municipality Neuried borders directly on the Munich city area in the north and in the west on the administrative district Starnberg. After the Second World War, the number of inhabitants in Neuried increased rapidly and still today it is a popular residential area with approx. 8,000 inhabitants, which perfectly combines rural living with the proximity to Munich.
In the immediate vicinity, the Forstenrieder Park attracts visitors from far and near with its beautiful cycle and hiking paths; and the Starnberger See lake is not too far away either. There are several public transport connections: both the U-Bahn stations and the S-Bahn stations of line S6 can be reached by bus. Munich is only 15 minutes away by car.
